Softball Umpire Masks

Add a critical layer of protection to your mask with the Pronine Umpire's Throat Guard. This 4-inch guard hangs from the bottom of your umpire or catcher's mask to shield the throat from foul tips and deflected balls — one of the most vulnerable spots behind the plate. Quick to attach and just as quick to remove, it's an inexpensive piece of insurance no plate official or catcher should work without.

Key features & specs:

• 4-inch hanging throat guard for umpire and catcher's masks
• Velcro attachment for fast on-and-off setup
• Fits Pronine CH1SZ, CHYTH, and CHPRO mask models
• Shields the throat from foul tips and deflected pitches
• Sold separately; color black

Coach's tip: Check that the guard swings freely and fully covers the throat opening before every game — a guard that's ridden up or torn loose isn't protecting anything. Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth, keep the Velcro free of debris so it holds firmly, and store attached to your mask.

Cut the glare and stay sharp on sunny afternoons with the Champro Sun Visor. This simple add-on clips to the top pad of your umpire mask to shade your eyes, reduce squinting, and fight the fatigue that builds over a long day behind the plate. It also adds UV protection, helping officials track pitches cleanly when the sun sits low over the outfield.

Key features & specs:

• Easily attaches to the top pad of the mask
• Reduces sun glare and eye fatigue for clearer pitch tracking
• Provides UV protection
• Fits Champro CM57B, CM58B, CM63B, CM71, and CM72 masks
• Sold separately (mask not included)
• SKU: CS-CMSV

Coach's tip: Keep one in the umpire bag for day games and afternoon doubleheaders — it makes a real difference when the sun drops toward the horizon in the late innings. Care: Wipe it clean after use, check that it stays firmly clipped to the pad before each game, and store it flat so it keeps its shape.

The Champro CM72 is the go-to entry-level umpire mask for recreational, youth league, and amateur baseball and softball umpires who want a well-built, lightweight protection option without paying premium prices. At just 18 oz, it reduces neck and head fatigue during extended behind-the-plate assignments while still providing the structural durability needed to handle foul tips and rebounding pitches throughout the season.

• • Hollow-Wire Steel Frame at 18 oz – Lightweight hollow-wire steel construction keeps the mask at a manageable 18 ounces — significantly lighter than solid-frame alternatives — reducing neck strain and fatigue during back-to-back games and extended game assignments without sacrificing the structural integrity needed to absorb foul tip and rebound impacts
  • Dri-Gear Ergo-Fit Moisture-Wicking Pads – Synthetic Ergo-Fit pads are treated with Dri-Gear technology to actively wick sweat away from the face and forehead during hot-weather games, keeping umpires dry, comfortable, and focused through late-inning situations without pad saturation
  • Hook-and-Loop Removable Pads – Pads attach and detach via hook-and-loop straps in seconds, making between-game cleaning straightforward — wipe down the pads and frame separately, then reattach without tools or wrestling with the mask hardware
  • Extended Coverage — Ears, Throat, and Oversized Forehead – Frame extends beyond the standard face protection zone to cover the ears and throat and features an oversized forehead extension, providing additional protection for the areas most vulnerable to foul tips and stray pitches that travel outside the central strike zone
  • Adjustable Harness Included – Comes with an adjustable rear harness that secures the mask firmly to a wide range of adult head sizes, keeping the mask in proper position through the crouching and quick-movement demands of behind-the-plate work without slipping or shifting mid-play
  • Baseball and Softball Compatible – Available in black and silver finishes to suit both baseball and softball umpire uniform standards, making it a versatile single-mask choice for officials who work across both sports throughout the season

Get your umpire mask back to game-ready in minutes with the Champro Replacement Mask Harness. The harness is the strap system that holds the mask securely to your head, and it's one of the first parts to stretch out or wear through with regular use. Rather than replace an entire mask when the straps give out, swap in a fresh harness and restore a snug, stable fit that stays put through every crouch and quick move behind the plate.

Key features & specs:

• Replacement strap harness for umpire face masks
• Fits all Champro® umpire face masks
• Fits most non-Champro® masks for versatile compatibility
• Restores a secure, adjustable fit when original straps stretch or wear
• Inexpensive fix that extends the life of your mask
• SKU: CS-CM60H

Coach's tip: Keep a spare harness in the umpire bag — a snapped strap mid-game is an easy save when you're not scrambling for a whole backup mask. Care: Adjust the straps for a firm, even fit, inspect them for fraying between games, and let them dry out after sweaty or wet assignments.
